Julian 2002 Jul 25 — FVRRINALIA — ANTE DIEM VIII CALENDAS AVGVSTI MMDCCLV A.V.C
Explanation of various calendars

The festival of the Furrinalia honored the goddess Furrina, the earth-mother goddess personified as the wife of Neptune, and therefore a deity of water, or springs. On this day the Romans would return to Rome from their camping trips and continue the celebrations in the city. Feasting, drinking wine mixed with spring water, music, and games were the order of the day.
The emperor Constantius died at York this day in MLIX A.V.C. (306 AD).
This was the 8th day of the Great Fire of Rome in DCCCXVII A.V.C. (64 AD) under the emperor Nero.
